Pequest Trout Hatchery
605 Pequest Rd.
Oxford, New Jersey
Join the knowledgeable staff and volunteers at the Pequest Trout Hatchery and learn some fishing basics. Staff will talk about the history and use of the hatchery, safety and ethics of fishing. They will go over equipment and how it is used. After the discussion, participants will practice casting before heading to the pond for some hands-on fishing experience. Participants are encouraged to bring a cooler with ice so that they can bring their catch home and enjoy a fresh fish dinner. Staff will clean the fish for you. Any child under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult program participant. Children younger than 10 need an adult working directly with them. Please register for this class only once so that others have the opportunity to learn. Repeat registrations will be canceled. All registrants must participate in the program. Cost: $10.00 per family payable by credit/debit card or check/money order made out to "State of NJ" on day of program. Need: NJ fishing license and trout stamp for those over the age of 16.
