Program presented by the North Jersey Highlands Historical Society. In addition to being the ironmaster for the Ringwood ironworks, Robert Erskine was assisting in the American colonists' efforts to obtain independence by drawing maps and completing surveys for George Washington and his Army. Erskine was eventually given the title of Surveyor General. Join the North Jersey Highlands Historical Society for their October program where they will discuss Erskine's map-making efforts and show numerous examples of local maps and surveys he created by hand. Program takes place on Sunday, October 20th at 1:30pm and is FREE and open to the public. *PLEASE NOTE* This program will take place at the Long Pond Ironworks Visitor Center located at 1334 County Road Route 511, Hewitt, NJ 07421
