Wild
Geranium, Geraniaceae Geranium maculatum, found in
the valley between Bearfort Mountain and Kanhouse Mountain in
West Milford, New Jersey. Wild Geraniums bloom between April and
June in woodlands and shady roadsides from Manitoba, southern
Ontario and Southern Maine.
The roots of Wild Geraniums are rich in Tannins and was once
used as an astringent to stop bleeding.*
