Bulbs for Springtime Flowers!
Autumn in northern New Jersey is a time of transition, from the warm days of summer to the cool nights of fall. It is also a time to think about sowing bulbs for springtime flowers.

The optimal time for planting bulbs is September through November. Bulbs need a period of cold weather in order to bloom in the spring. If you plant them too early, they may sprout before the ground freezes, and if you plant them too late, they may not have time to develop roots before the ground freezes.
I was so excited when I found Ice Queen Crocus bulbs on sale at my local Walmart. They are among the first flowers of spring, even popping up through snow on a sunny day. I can hardly wait to plant them and see them bloom in the spring.
I finally cleaned up my new flower beds for some new bulb for Spring. I am planting , thee new buls along a small rock wall alternating between daffodils, crocuses and chionodoxa.
